Day By Day Itinerary for Hampta Pass Trek
Manali Campsite to Chika
The Hampta Pass Trek begins from the picturesque hill town of Manali. From Manali, we drove to the trail head near Jobra to begin our trek. This drive in itself is beautiful and you get a taste of Himachal’s splendour.
The trek commences early towards Chika the first camp the pas is goo. The trail winds you through thick stands of pine, maple and oak forests. You’ll be by a running river, walk on wood bridges and breath in fresh mountain air. The terrain is easy, ideal for getting your legs warmed up.
Chika is one big meadow surrounded with a river and tall mountains. It is a serene spot where trekkers can rest, eat warm food and then spend their night under the stars. We break it for TrekYaari provides clean tents, warm sleeping bags and good enough food to keep you cosy.
Chika to Balu Ka Ghera
Hampta Pass Trek which begins at Chika and culminates at Balu Ka Ghera – showing abundance (rather a pile) of sand. Further into the valley, the trail gets a bit more spicy.
You will stroll through green meadows, ford little streams and gaze at waterfalls plummeting from tall cliffs. The valley spreads out and the mountains begin to look bigger and closer. Snow is visible at the top peaks, which adds to its appeal.
Balu Ka Ghera is encircled by rocky mountains and it is a pretty campsite. This campsite is significant because this is the point for crossing Hampta Pass on next day. You've got to keep in mind, of course, that more and more the green valley gives way to a craggy snowy world. It’s an achievement to get up on Hampta Pass. Down below you see the green Kullu Valley on one side and the dry, raw Lahaul Valley on the other. The contrast is truly magical.

Balu Ka Ghera to Manali Base Camp
On the last day of Hampta Pass Trek, you trek from Balu Ka Ghera to Jobra and then drive back to the Manali Base Camp. On the way back you can take in the scenery one more time.
You will have an easier and more relaxing walk downhill. You can make this a pleasant walk, click snaps and be one with the nature. Once you reach the road head, our jeeps drive you to Manali.
