It is now a standard custom for a husband or wife to put up an individual headstone after the death of only one, and is waiting to record the date of death in order for the spouse that survived to be inscribed later.
Even mourners walking through the northwest quadrant of the historical Salt Lake City Cemetery might be awed by the tall, granite shaft inscribed with Russell M. Nelson and the words “Seventeenth President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” The birth year is recorded at “1924.” As a matter of fact, the 96-year-old Nelson is alive and well.
On the backof the monument, there's a brass plate which states: “This monument was crafted using stone from Salt Lake Temple 2020.” Salt Lake Temple 2020 renovation The famous temple is under construction for an enormous, four-year transformation and seismic upgrades.
