Heart surgery is any surgery where the chest is cut out, and the operation performed on the muscles, arteries, valves of the heart. Heart surgery can correct the problem of the heart as the heart is one of the primary organs of the human body.
Heart Diseases and Symptoms:
Symptoms of heart disease are based on the type of heart problem you have.
1)Atherosclerosis: It is a hardening of blood vessels due to blood vessels injury from the accumulation of plaque deposits. The symptoms can include coldness, chest pain and weakness in your arms and legs.
2)Cardiomyopathy: It occurs because of the diseased heart muscle which affects the flow of blood. During this, you feel fatigue, shortness in breath, bloating. Such symptoms are difficult to link it with hearing diseases directly.
3)Heart Infections: the Main type of heart infections are pericarditis, myocarditis and endocarditis. They affect the different part of the heart causing chest pain, skin rash and cough that won't go away.
Types of heart surgery:
Heart surgery can do to repair or replace heart valves that control blood flow through the heart. It also treats the damaged structures of the heart. Heart surgery in India usually take place to replace an injured heart with a healthy one. It is also used to treat people who have severe heart failure and coronary heart disease (CHD). In India, open heart surgery for children can range anywhere from Rs 1.5 to Rs 2.75 lakhs. For adults, it varies from Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 7 lakhs.
1)Coronary artery bypass grafting: Coronary artery bypass grafting is the most common type of heart surgery performed on adults. This surgery helps to improve the flow of the blood. It is performed on people with serving coronary artery disease. A healthy artery or vein is grafted to a damaged coronary artery which allows the grafted artery to blocked damaged artery and brings fresh blood to the heart.
2)Valve repair and replacement:A damaged valve affects the blood flow through the heart because of two main reasons:
a)If the valve is not fully open, then it will obstruct blood flow. It is known as valve Stenosis or narrowing.
b)If the valve is not closed correctly, it will leak the blood backwards. It is known as valve incompetence. Valve repair surgery fixes mitral valves that become floppy and leak, and valve replacement replaces the damaged valve with artificial valves.
3)Arrhythmia treatment:Arrhythmia is a problem which deals with the speed and rhythm of the heartbeat. The heart can beat too slow or too fast or with irregular rhythm during arrhythmia. To prevent the spread of such disorganized electrical cells surgeons makes a small burn or cut in atria.
4)Heart transplant:heart transplant is done to replace the diseased heart with the healthy heart from the deceased donor. It is also done if the patient's heart is too weak to pump out the blood to meet the body's needs.
5)Aneurysm repair: An Aneurysm is a bulge in the wall of an artery or heart muscle. This bulge grows and can burst to cause the dangerous problem of bleeding inside the body. This surgery helps to prevent the risk of rupturing and to restore the flow of blood.
