Each player is dealt three cards, face down.
The dealer then flips over the top card of the deck and places it in the middle of the table. This is the first of three community cards, called the flop.
Players then have the opportunity to bet or check. Once all the players have made their decision, the dealer flips over the fourth community card, known as the turn.
Players can again bet or check, and then the dealer flips over the fifth and final community card, called the river.
The final round of betting then takes place and the player with the best five-card hand wins the pot.
