The compact case erector uses various mechanisms to transform flat cardboard sheets into fully-formed boxes. Typically, the machine first loads a stack of flat cardboard sheets into a magazine or feeder. Then, the machine uses suction cups or other gripping mechanisms to lift and fold the cardboard sheets into the desired box shape. Finally, the machine uses tape or adhesive to seal the box flaps together.
Compact case erectors can be customized to handle various box sizes and shapes, and can operate at high speeds, making them ideal for high-volume production environments. Additionally, they can improve packaging efficiency and reduce labor costs by automating the box forming process.

AFA Systems improved the design of the TP-RCP case packer. All case packing processes, including case erecting, loading, and sealing, are now on one frame. The innovative Transpacktor case packer will erect the case and place the case over the collated product. This unique feature allows end users to save costs on expensive change parts for top-loading products. The gantry robot case erector acts as the loading system, reducing floor space and changing parts. The system can include all-servo change-over to have change-over completed in less than 5 minutes.

AFA Systems has designed a unique cartoner that can run in continuous and intermittent motion modes. This configuration allows the cartoner to handle high-speed single packs at 300 cartons per minute and multi-packs at a lower cartons per minute speed. The system features an AFA Delta 3 Robot that interfaces with an flighted indexing conveyor. The Delta 3 robot gears to the bucket conveyor to accurately collate pouches at 300 products per minute speeds. Standard features such as a heavy-duty frame, Allen Bradley servos and PLC, and a servo rotary feeder with prebreak are present on this system (Video ID: 453).

AFA reconditioned a manual load cartoner for a major food producer. AFA replaced the used cabinet with a NEMA 4x stainless cabinet to ensure compliance within a wet environment. AFA also installed a new Nordson ProBlue application system to ensure the customer has the latest glue application technology. These new features are just some of the work AFA can do on used systems.
