What is the meaning of Udyam Registration?

The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has specified the new form and procedure for filing the memorandum to be termed as ‘UDYAM REGISTRATION' with effect from July 1, 2021, in a notification published in the Gazette of India on June 26, 2021.

After completing the online registration process, the applicant obtains an Udyam Registration Certificate. This certificate is indefinitely valid. This certificate will include a dynamic QR code that can be used to access the government portal's web page as well as information about the company.

Who is eligible to register for Udyam?

Anyone who wants to start a micro, small, or medium business can do so by filling out an online udyam registration form.

What Documents Do I Need to Register for Udyam?

There is no need to upload any documents, certifications, papers, or proofs during the Online Udyam Registration application procedure because it is based on self-declaration.

For the registration process, the user will simply need to enter their 12-digit Aadhaar number, Pan card number, and business bank account data.

There is no need for hard copies or digital copies. The total procedure only requires information about your company.

The Registration Process for Udyam

The following is a simple three-step technique to follow:

An MSME must apply for Udyam Registration online using the Udyam Registration Portal.

The business will be given a ‘Udyam Registration Number' after submitting the application successfully (i.e., permanent identity number).

The business will be given a ‘Udyam Registration Certificate' once the registration process is completed.

For Existing Businesses:

On or after July 1, 2021, all existing firms registered under EM–Part-II or UAM must re-register on the Udyam Registration portal.

All businesses that were registered before June 30, 2021 will be classed in accordance with this notice.

Existing businesses that were registered before the 30th of June, 2020, will only be valid until the 31st of December, 2021.

Any business that is registered with another ministry agency under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises must register with Udyam Registration.
