Should your Deed Poll be accepted, there may be further conditions. The High Commission requires that its nationals sign their Deed Polls in the presence of a lawyer, and the Embassies insist that their citizens have their Deed Polls legalized. If you are unable to get your passport changed to reflect your new name, then not all UK government offices, corporations, and organizations may accept your Deed Poll. The reason for this is that you aren't renaming yourself “for all purposes.”
