Continued insurance of your vehicle is a necessary requirement to keep yourself protected from financial costs arising out of road incidents where your vehicle is involved. For instance, the damages sustained by an insured vehicle in a road accident can be easily claimed under a vehicle insurance policy that it is covered under. Such a need can be further specified with the mandatory requirement of a third-party liability cover specified under road rules.
As per the Motor Vehicles Act 1961, which primarily governs motor insurance policies, third-party liability coverage is a mandatory requirement that each vehicle must carry.
These policy types hedge the vehicle owner from any expenses arising from third-party liability claims made by any third party from an incident involving the insured vehicle. These reasons thus specify the need to check the status of one’s vehicle insurance policy so that it can be regularised and perpetuated without any fail through timely renewal. Such status can also be valuable when selling or purchasing a vehicle.
Here are specified the ways in which you can check the status of your vehicle cover.
Ways to Check the Status of Your Vehicle Insurance
Checking the status of your vehicle insurance is possible both online and offline. Under the offline method, you need to call your insurer or visit the branch in person to check the status.
