Before I explain how to find your AirPods, there are two prerequisites that must be met for the search to be successful:

The charging case for your AirPods must be open or the AirPods are outside the case. The AirPods are within Bluetooth range of one of your iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch).

If your AirPods are not within Bluetooth range, the "Find" app will display the last known location.

How to use "Find" my iPhone?

First you need to set up your "Locate" app on your iPhone.Go to Settings > [your name] > locate.Click "Find My iPhone."Enable "Find My iPhone" and "Send Last Location." This will also automatically set up your AirPods.

Then simply follow this procedure to find your AirPods 1, AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max:

Go to iCloud.com/find from any Apple device paired with your AirPods (iPhone, iPad, MacBook).Sign in with your Apple ID.Click "All Devices" and select your AirPods. Here you can see your last found location, with the date and time. The blue dot on the map indicates the device you're using to find your missing AirPods, i.e. your iPhone, iPad, or MacBook. The green dot indicates that your AirPods are connected. To find them, you can call them or get directions. If the dot is gray, it means your AirPods are offline, discharged, stored in their case, or out of range. Your last known location is displayed. If you want to find only one of the two AirPods, choose "Mute Left" or "Mute Right."

Can I find the AirPods if they are turned off?

You will only have access to the last known location if your AirPods are out of battery.

What to do if I have lost one of the two AirPods?

If you've lost an AirPod, you can mute the sound of the one you still have. So only the lost AirPod will make a sound.

What to do if AirPods do not appear in "Search"?

If you don't see a location or your AirPods are "Out of Service," you can get directions to their last location. If they reconnect, you'll receive a notification on the iPhone, iPad, or MacBook you paired them with.

How to find your AirPods case?

If you lose your AirPods case, the solution is the same as finding your AirPods. Obviously, this solution will only work if your AirPods are in the case. In this article you can see more details about AirPods cases.

And if, despite all your efforts, you can't find your AirPods and have to buy new ones, consider upgrading them! Refurbished AirPods sold on Back Market are routinely cleaned and refurbished by professionals, for 30-70% less than their new counterparts. They also come with a minimum one-year warranty and a 30-day return period. By buying refurbished, you are also helping to reduce the production of e-waste, as well as the amount of rare materials that are removed from our environment. In addition, it reduces the carbon footprint of your purchase by 80%.
