Did you know that over 9 million people in the world today own an RV?  For the love of adventure, more people are opting for RV living. Recreational vehicles provide a chance to visit more new places and enjoy amazing views and sceneries from the comfort of your ‘home’. And what’s more, you can stop and pack in the middle of nowhere and spend the night in the safety of your RV.

However, in the winter season, RV living is not ideal due to the cold temperatures. For this reason, most people opt to travel in their recreation vehicles during the summer. But you do not have to cut short your adventure during winter. It is possible to make RV living a permanent affair by learning a few tricks to help stay warm in the RV during winter. The following are tips and tricks to help make RV living bearable during winter;

1.RV skirting

In the purchase of RV parts, it would be best if you include RV skirts. RV skirting is placing material around the bottom of the camper to protect the undercarriage from cold temperatures. Sealing up the recreational vehicle underneath helps prevent heat loss through the floor and keep you warm from the inside of the RV.

It will also help reduce the effect of strong winds, causing adverse damage to the vehicle and a source of more cold. RV skirting helps you stay warm, provides extra storage, and helps you save on money that could have otherwise been used in the purchase of propane to help keep warm.

2.Cooking

As you want to stay as comfortable and relaxed as you can during an adventure, you might be tempted to order ready-made food. However, during winter, you should make your own food. Why? Because using the stove helps to generate heat inside the RV, ensuring that you do not freeze.  So, try out that new recipe you learned, bake a cake!

3.Install RV insulation

Insulation helps to maintain consistent temperatures in the RV. Therefore in buying RV parts, invest in materials that help to keep your RV adequately insulated. There are two ways to insulate your RV;

• Spray foam insulation, which you can apply on hollow spaces on the wall or floor.

• Foil insulation is effective against cold and provides resistance against pests and humidity.

It is also essential to insulate windows to trap in extra heat.

4.Exercise

Exercising is not the most pleasurable activity to partake, especially in winter, but it contributes a big deal in staying warm. As much as you want to snuggle up, staying active is essential for increasing your internal body heat. Plus, you will get to burn off extra calories and keep fit.

5.Use thermal sleeping bags

Thermal sleeping bags will help keep your body warm and also help in generating heat inside the recreational vehicle.

Do not let winter spoil your adventurous spree; use these tips to help make your winter RV living bearable.
