Many familiar substances can leave a colored or greasy mark on the upholstery: wine, coffee, blood, urine, creams, pieces of food, plasticine, etc. It is best to remove as much of any of the substances from the surface as possible so that the composition does not have time to absorb into the upholstery or just dry out. As much as possible to clean the sofa will help paper napkins, clean rags, gauze – they all absorb fat and moisture well.
Treatment of the remaining stain depends on the type of contamination. In any case, the same technology is used: the movements should go from the edges to the center of the spot so that it does not become larger.
Urine.

Often the question arises of how to clean the sofas from urine since it is one of the most complex organic pollutants. On the one hand, urine can be almost invisible, but at the same time, it emits a strong unpleasant smell. People who constantly live in a room with such a sofa, gradually get used to the smell and do not pay attention to it, but it will be very unpleasant for guests. To clean the sofas at home from the smell of children's urine or an animal, immediately blot the stain with napkins so that the liquid is absorbed. After that, dry the moisture with a hairdryer, so you will save the soft from streaks. For processing colored upholstery, a solution of 9% vinegar (in the ratio of 1) is suitable.:5) or a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
If you have to clean a light sofa from urine, a solution of citric acid (in the ratio of 1:10) will be useful. Leave it on the stain for half an hour, then rinse with a soap/shampoo solution. The latter should be thoroughly washed off from the upholstery with clean water, dry.
Red wine.

Blot the newly planted wine stain with a napkin, then sprinkle with fine salt. Leave it to absorb the moisture, and if necessary, re-sprinkle it. Using a soft brush, brush away the salt, then wash the wine residue with ethyl alcohol and then with soap suds. Remove the remaining soap with water, dry the area of the sofas with napkins.
Chewing gum.
The easiest way to remove gum stuck to the sofa is to freeze it. To do this, alternately put two or three ice cubes on it. In order not to wet the upholstery, we recommend that you first wrap them in a bag. After the gum has become hard, it can be carefully scraped off. Sometimes a stain remains in its place, which is easily removed with methyl alcohol. Apply this liquid and wipe it off so that no residue is left.
Felt-tip pen, ballpoint pen, traces of lipstick, nail polish.

Allow the wax to set for a while before removing such contamination. After that, it will be easy for you to break and scrape it off. To get rid of the resulting trace, cover it with a thin cotton cloth or a couple of paper napkins. Iron the resulting "sandwich" several times. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated.
Bloodstains.

This type of pollution does not like procrastination. Try to wash fresh stains with cold water as quickly as possible until they disappear. If you can't do it in time and the stain has dried properly, cover it with ice cubes and leave it to soak. Next, soak with a weak vinegar solution (in the ratio of 2 tbsp. l. 9 % vinegar per 1 liter of water) and finally rinse with a soap solution.
Another good option that will allow you to clean the sofa at home quickly and efficiently is a saline solution. Take two tablespoons of table salt per liter of warm water. With the finished mixture, thoroughly moisten the dry blood spot, leave it for an hour, after which time the blood will be wiped off with a cotton cloth.
And the last way to deal with the blood on the upholstery of the sofa – 2 aspirin tablets dissolved in a glass of very cold water. With a soft sponge with this composition, you need to rub the stain intensively until it goes away.
Juice of fruits or vegetables.
In this case, the stain is treated with a solution of ammonia and 9% vinegar, and then wipe the upholstery of the sofa with a clean, damp cloth.
Chocolate, jam, condensed milk.
To make it easier to remove such contamination, we advise you to dry it a little. This way you will avoid smearing the product on the surface of the upholstery. After the appearance of a dry crust, remove it, wash the remains with a soap solution.
Beer or coffee.
Such a stain is first blotted with a napkin, then treated with a soap solution, to which vinegar is added in advance (2 tablespoons per 1 liter). Note that household soap is most suitable for making the solution.
Along with urine stains, beer traces are easily removed from the sofa upholstery. The main difficulty is to remove the persistent pungent smell. So, if you do not quickly get rid of the trace of spilled beer, after it dries, you will only be able to eliminate the smell with cleaning agents or special equipment.
So, with the primary contamination, you have coped, now you have a trace on the upholstery. It will disappear after treatment with furniture and carpet care products. The Mineral cleaner already mentioned earlier, or the option recommended for your material is suitable. We remind you that it is necessary to properly carry out the treatment from the edges to the center of the spot in order to avoid further cleaning of the entire sofa made of light fabric. Once the stain is removed, dry the moisture with a cloth.
Greasy spots.

Often, when people eat on the sofa, pieces of food fall on its upholstery, and they leave greasy spots. If this happens to you, sprinkle the stain with starch, soda, or rock salt and leave it on for a while. Prepare such a cleaning solution: in one liter of hot water, dilute a little dishwashing detergent or washing powder, stir well to make foam. Moisten a soft sponge in the resulting liquid and wipe the stain until it completely disappears. Rinse clean upholstery with water and leave it to dry.
