I think that's the way that Blizzard has always worked. D2R Items this type of bottom-up perspective on the kinds of games we'd like us to develop and bring forward are and that's crucial. It's so ingrained and built in to the DNA of Blizzard, I don't know how Blizzard can be successful in a different way.
You know, I think the development team was put in charge of the company after Mike is gone, and the fact that we promoted Ray Gresko to be the chief development officer is a testament to not only which Blizzard principles are but an indication that Activision Blizzard understands what's important to Blizzard.
I am a huge fan of Diablo and have been in love with it in ways I've not been in any other Blizzard game, and I'm certain it's the same with other games. In the end, creating new IP will work for the company, but you are able to offer classic games that gamers want more of, like StarCraft or Diablo. What's your take on creating new versus leaning on the classics? Do you plan to play with the older game as you have done with a wild classic or do you see a future for StarCraft and whatever may come next?
You know, I think we're blessed to have now four giant IPs in WarCraft, StarCraft, Diablo, and now Diablo. Also, there's Heroes, which is sort like a subset of an amalgamation of all the different borrowings of the parts of the IPs.
This is an extremely effective feature. In reference to an earlier question where I discussed these IPs, and the potential of many of them in supporting different types of gaming experiences and experiences, it's something we're always going to look for.
Personally, I think there are always characters and great stories, as well as plenty of games and game experiences that we can develop in the existing games we have. I think there's plenty of space for this. However, simultaneously, you should think about the future also.
Both are crucial. Fans want the continuation of StarCraft games. I'm a huge fan and also want to play more StarCraft games. Fans would like to see greater Diablo games. I'm a fan, and also want to see more Diablo games. Fans want new IP also, and I am one too.
So, the things are discussed as a matter of "What IP should we use and how should we look at it?" The team has a lot of decision-making authority on that. Also, we need to be aware of the games and IPs teams are very happy about. What IP could be suitable for various types of games.
I think the fact that we own these IPs which contain these stories, time spans or any other story about games that are associated with them -- I consider it an asset. I do not see it as a liability. I think that the ability and the desire to create novel ideas is essential We've demonstrated that we're capable of it by using buy D2R Ladder Items We'll demonstrate it again in the future.
