India’s tourism sector has always been one of the pivotal sectors in the Indian economy. To boost this sector, the Prime Minister of India recently met with the Chinese President in Mamallapuram. And in honor of his visit, India decided to relax the e-tourist visa policy for Chinese nationals. It was an informal summit and these announcements were made a post that summit. And the new rules have already been implemented in the Indian embassy in Beijing.

Let’s have a look at the key things that are changed for Chinese nationals.

Policy changes in e-visa for Chinese nationals

Since October, Chinese citizens are eligible to apply for an e-tourist visa with 5-year validity. And that visa allows the people of China to travel to India multiple times. And this visa costs only 80 USD or tourists can opt for the single 30-day validity which costs 25 USD.

And the people of China will have to pay only 10 USD fee if they visit India between April to June. Earlier it was only valid for 60 days and people of china can now avail long term Indian visa like everyone else around the world. However, this does not impact the current business and other visa types, as the changes happened only for the e-tourist visa.

These changes are among the changes made to whole Indian e-visa policies. Now, Chinese citizens are treated the same way as citizens from other countries.
