Otherwise, it could slip or fail due to the increased horsepower, which could cause a catastrophic engine failure, dealing serious damage and potentially wrecking your engine.
Upgrading the Crank Hub
Finding the right crank hub upgrade for your N54, N55, or S55 engine is essential. Look for one that uses a Spline Lock Technology to lock it in place, and you won’t have to worry about drilling, pinning, or welding. Some designs use pins, but these can lead to failures. Pins lack the surface area and engagement depth needed for torsional loads. Splines, meanwhile, are specifically engineered to transfer that torque, helping to lock the crank hub in place and making it far less prone to failure.
