WhatsApp is raising the bar of messaging apps by continuously delivering new and exciting features. Now instant messaging network WhatsApp is offering a joinable call feature with multi-device testing programs to certain of its users who have signed up as beta testers. Users will be able to utilize WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp desktop, and WhatsApp portal even if they do not have an internet connection on their primary phone, thanks to the new functionality.
Multi-Device Support Feature
According to a report published by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is still in the process of partly rolling out the functionality for select customers. Therefore your WhatsApp account may not be eligible at this time. Users may check their WhatsApp settings to see whether they have multi-device capability and if they have connected devices, which were formerly referred to as WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop. If consumers see a new line labeled “multi-device,” it indicates that they are eligible to participate in the beta program.
Joinable Calls will Bring Ease
In recent months, the business has introduced a new feature that allows users to join group videos or voice conversations even after they have begun. Participants are visible on the video call screen in the same manner that they are visible on other communications applications. According to WhatsApp, ‘joinable calls’ decrease the stress of replying to group calls and making group calls on WhatsApp and having in-person discussions more convenient and comfortable.
No Need to Worry if you Missed the Call
If a call is missed while someone in your group is on the phone, they may still join the call as long as it is still in progress; you can drop it off and return it at any time. Currently, group video calling on WhatsApp enables up to eight people to communicate with one another through video.
If you wish to join a missed voice call, first open WhatsApp and then choose the Calls tab from the drop-down menu. If a call is currently in progress and you want to participate, just touch it. After that, the Call-Info page will appear, and you may join the call by selecting Join from the drop-down menu.
Alert on Group Call
If a group decides to make a video call, you’ll get an alert. If you are unable to participate in this instance, choose ‘ignore.’ If you wish to see the Call-Info screen, press the ‘join’ button. You may use this to get information on the individuals who attended the call and information about the call menu and others. To participate in the call, press the ‘Join’ button. When you’re on the phone, you may use the Open button to bring up the Call-Info screen. In addition, if you wish to include more participants, choose Add participant.
Invitation Based Calling
To call all the WhatsApp group members, you have to open the group’s chat window. After this, you have to tap on the audio call or video call icon given at the top. Apart from this, after calling a single user, you can make new users a part of the call by tapping on the ‘New Call’ button. With the new feature, only those users who have been invited will be able to be a part of group calls.
Call Info Screen
WhatsApp has also made the new call info screen part of the app. On this, users will see which other users are included in the group call. Apart from this, a list of users who were invited for a group call but are not connected to the call will also be shown. The company has said that the group calls made with the new feature are also end-to-end encrypted and give complete privacy to the users.
