In addition to genetics, several environmental factors play an important role in causing ADHD.  Consumption of alcohol by the mother during pregnancy can lead to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders which include ADHD or similar symptoms.  Children who are exposed to certain toxic substances, such as lead, develop problems such as ADHD.

Development-

Problems in the central nervous system at critical moments in a child's development are also important in the occurrence of ADHD.

TREATMENT OF ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER
