At the same time, students will learn the basics of Sanskrit, including the use of verbal roots, nouns, pronouns, and common sentence formation and structure.
Through a series of specially designed handouts, students will be able to delve into the nuances of the Sanskrit language, as well as the philosophical ideas expressed in the Bhagavad Gita. They will also develop an appreciation for the unique worldview that the text embodies, enabling them to reflect on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita from within the Sanskrit language.
At the end of the course, students will be able to recognize common Sanskrit words, prepositions, and phrases, as well as use pronouns, people, and numbers. They will also have a solid understanding of the building blocks of the Sanskrit language, which will enable them to engage in simple everyday conversations in the language. Furthermore, they will be able to identify the second and sixth case-endings and words ending with a vowel.
This course is the first step in the Certificate Program in Bhagavad Gita through Sanskrit and is ideal for those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the text's message while simultaneously learning the classical language of India.
