Mera Peak Climbing

Okay, let me tell you about my big adventure, the Mera Peak Climbing trip! This is called Nepal's highest "trekking peak." That means it's a real climb needing special gear, but maybe a bit easier than some super huge, technical mountains.

The walk to get near the mountain was lovely. We passed through quiet forests and small villages. This walk took several days, which was good because it helped my body get used to the thin air high up. Seeing the hills and meeting local people was a nice start to the adventure.

Then, the climbing part began! Mera Peak is really high, standing at 6,476 meters (21,247 feet)! (Source: Nepal Mountaineering Association). Wow! We needed special warm boots, sharp points on our shoes called crampons, and an ice axe. Our guides showed us how to use ropes to stay safe, especially when walking on the snowy glacier. Walking up in the dark before sunrise, with just our headlamps lighting the way, felt really exciting!

Reaching the top was just amazing! I felt so tired, but the view... oh, the view! It was maybe the best sunrise I will ever see. From the top, I could see five of the world's highest mountains! Huge peaks like Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga were right there. (Source: Common knowledge confirmed by guides). Seeing these giants all around me made me feel tiny but so incredibly happy and proud.

It was hard work, for sure. But climbing Mera Peak was totally worth it. If you are strong and want a big mountain challenge with unbelievable views, this climb is something special. I will never forget standing on that snowy top!
