I am an IT guy, no wonder I have to apply whole lot of brains on the task. I have to grind out on my duty and require a constant brain exercise. I was through a really stressful state and executing the complex tasks was taking a toll on me. And, things god from bad to worse when I started experiencing these uncontrollable bouts of naps in my work place, It was completely unfathomable to me because I am the kind of guy who always sleep on time and makes sure that I receive a complete 8 hours of sleep.

I couldn't afford to let my condition exacerbate as my project manager is extremely stringent when it comes to discipline. Also, it took me 8 long years to make a rapport in my work place, by no means I could afford to spoil it. I had no choice but to pay a visit to a physician. He told me I would have to undergo some diagnosis, on checking some symptoms perhaps. It wasn't less than a catastrophe when I received my reports. Guess what… it said narcoleptic syndrome, I was dejected and confused as well. I mean already the burden of work and life wasn't enough that I was now put against this pesky disease.

Doctors told me about some therapies and long-term treatment but I was told clearly that for a permanent cure, I might need to wait very long. It was dreadful for me and I was literally ready to do anything to get out of this plight.

Few suggested me of some homespun methods, things just attenuated but the improvement was not significant. That guy from another team in my office noticed me conking out at work, he sort of shook me up and asked "didn't you sleep well last night?"

I was startled and told him in a nervous tone—I am ailing through narcolepsy—I was embarrassed and thought he would snitch on me. But, against my expectations he was more of a helpful guy. He kind of had a long chit-chat session with me and told me that his wife had gone through a similar phase. Then he enlightened me about this medicine called Modafinil. He said his wife got extreme benefits out of this medicine and now she is free from the nap attacks completely. I was cynical about this pharmaceutical drug and yeah… I Googled about it.Lots of information about cheap modafinil in UK, abundant suppliers of this drug I found online. I found that modafinil is an FDA approved medicine and especially prescribed for narcolepsy, the thought stroke me—why the doctor didn't prescribe me? Later I found it's a temporary solution for the ailments like sleep apnea, narcolepsy and shiftwork disorder—a perfect solution for me. My colleague also said that he would buy modafinil in bulk from online suppliers as it wouldn't require a doctor's prescription and the medicine costs way cheaper than from physical pharmacies. I also read later that Modafinil in UK isn't available in every pharmacy either—couldn't find the reason though. I eventually got convinced by the literature of the drug and bought the medicine at last from one of the online medicine supplier. I strictly followed the dose of modafinil tablets which suggested "one tablet of modafinil 200mg right before the shift starts." I followed it and one the first day I didn't feel much but the number of sleep attacks were lesser. I didn't lose hope and kept taking the optimum dose, in just one week I was able to tolerate the urge of sleep.

Today, it's the third month I have been regularly taking this wakefulness promoting drug and things are going smoothly. The only negative part I found in modafinil is that it makes me feel a bit nauseous at time but that's manageable. I have started the long-term treatment under the supervision of doctor and hopefully I will conquer this disease soon.

And, yeah! My friends said I have become more witty now, perhaps the effect of modafinil on my cognitive function.
