I guess we all have been on a blind date once in life, although we might not admit openly. There is always a thrill about the moment. There is always a rush about the uncertainty, until the mystery unfolds. The blind date is like a blind dare, someone asking you to stand at the edge of a creek blindfolded and spread your arms to take the leap.
What Would I do on a Blind Date Journey?
Do the blind dates really tell you they are coming? Do they let you prepare for it?They just happen! right! We can only feel the moments in present! The heart pumps faster, the mind literally operates in “Inception” mode, and we are clueless of the outcome. That’s the power of uncertainty.
I would admit that I at least half-plan my trips when I set out for a journey. All looks good on the map and the travel diary for the moment. What I end up experiencing during the course of the journey is completely different! It ought to be!If it were all certain, how boring would the journey be.
If I were to set out on a blind date journey of course, I would make sure it would be the longest journey ever. I would love to keep an open eye to view things as far as they are visible and capture every picture that fells on the lenses. I will surely know nothing what I am going to experience, but that’s alright!
When it so happens that there is something I cannot view with an open eye, I close them for a moment and the answers unfold themselves. Sometimes, it is better not to have any clue about things at all.
Sometimes, beginning with a clean slate is better than being overwhelmed with prejudice.
When we plan, we expect, and when we expect and things do not turn out the way we planned, we burden it with a miserable experience. A blind date would be like a free expression. If it were good, I have a reason to go back there again, and if not, I will have a valuable lesson I can share with others. A blind date would be a win-win situation anyway!
Is the world out there real ‘scary’?
Everyone has a little bit of fear. Trust me. Whoever said, they are not afraid are definitely lying. And if there were fear any bigger, it won’t be bigger than the fear of the unknown. The uncertain shuts off our brains. We panic, get frustrated, look out for an escape and try to settle the storm, in desperation. I assume a blind date travel would be no different.
I won’t be used to the law of the land, I won’t know what the other person wears, or eats or believes or speaks, I won’t know whether a place is safe for me or not! But , I know one thing for sure, that I will have an experience that is unique and memorable. Not that I planned my trips before and didn’t end up with disasters. But, those experiences have proved to me in several other ways that, what I thought about the world is totally different than what it actually is.
I ended up with unimaginable surprises too. I honestly never imagined that a date with the Himalayan Snow Leopards from just 20 feet away will be a part of #TheBlindList ,or capturing the footprints of Yeti on my camera would just be round the corner. I never imagined traveling to unknown tribes of Nagaland, and celebrating their life with them.
There is always a landscape waiting at the end of an unknown road. There are always smiling faces waiting to be friends, if we care to begin with a smile.
The fear, it turns out, is only a state of mind, and not something that exists outside.
World Is A Bigger Home
When we move out of the confines of our home, a bigger home awaits. A home called World! There is little that you can set out here as far as the ‘rules’ go, as you are out in search of a ‘free mind’. The only rule that works is to let the world share its secrets in its own ways.
#SayYesToTheWorld and it will unfold its best kept experiences for you.
