Solution 1: Launch QBDSM on your server workstation 

  • Choose the Network Issues menu from the QuickBooks Tool Hub
  • Now, hit on the QuickBooks Database Server Manager option. If QB app isn’t on your server computer, it will prompt you to install
  • In the QBDSM window, click Start Scan if your company file folders are already listed. If the folders are not visible > choose Browse to find the location of your company file > then tap Start Scan
  • The Database Server Manager will automatically fix Windows Firewall settings during the scan. As the process is complete, click Close
  • Open the QBDT on each workstation system > navigate to the File menu > choose Switch to multi user mode

Solution 2: Launch the QB file doctor utility

  • Under the tool hub, choose the Company File Issues menu
  • Pick Run QuickBooks File Doctor, it may take some time to access and wait till that
  • Under the File Doctor, select your company file from the page down menu. If you don't find the file you need to pick Browse to look your company file
  • Now, select the Check your file option > tap Continue
  • As you are entering QB admin password > hit Next
  • After it is done you have to attempt again to open your company file in the multi user network

Solution 3: Rename the .ND and .TLG files

  • First, move  to the folder that contains your company file
  • Search for the files having the same name as your company files but with a .ND and .TLG extension at the end, such as, company_file.qbw.nd, company_file.qbw.tlg
  • Right-tap each of these files > pick Rename
  • Now, you have to add .OLD at the end of these file names, like company_file.qbw.nd.OLD
  • As  it’s done you have to reopen QB and try again to access your company file in the multi-user mode
