The Sony XPERIA Z2 Tablet is a fully waterproof 10.1-inch tablet. Design and construction quality:
When you choose the Z2 tablet for the first time, you will first notice how incredibly lean it is. It is only 6.4 mm thick and 0.5 mm lower than its already thinner predecessor. It feels like holding a little 426-gram booklet in your hand. In contrast, Apple's iPad is thicker and thicker, 7.5 mm and 469 g, respectively. However, this extreme skin requires a low price. Although the metal body of the iPad Air is very strong and has almost no bending, the security of the Z2 tablet is much lower. It is not difficult to make the entire tablet slightly curved. I do not think it would fall off too well if it sits or tips unexpectedly.
In terms of design, not much has changed since the previous model. The front has a button-free all-glass design and the back has a large, matte white or black plastic with the smallest brand of Sony in the middle. While not exactly the resolution of the iPad Air at 2048x1536 pixels (264ppi), although side by side, I doubt you noticed a big difference. The display is very clear, with clear edges on the text and icons on the Android interface and on the Internet. High-resolution photos look sharp and clear thanks to the screen's high brightness and excellent color processing.
Software and processor:
The Z2 tablet runs the latest version of Android called 4.4.2 KitKat. Sony is not good at updating products with Android. We're still waiting for KitKat on Z1 last year, so I'm very happy to see the latest version when I release it. Sony has made many of the same adjustments to Android as you have seen in its recent agility. Sony music and movie services icons are distributed across the five home screens, and a tool on the left side of the app bar allows you to change the order of the app icons. Although Sony's photo and video galleries are a bit clumsy, the interface is usually easy to use and it does not take long to get used to it.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 ultra-thin quad-core processor has a compact body design with a 2.3 GHz clock and 3 GB of backup. This is a hefty spec lineup, so it's not surprising that there are some serious forces behind it. It scored an impressive 3,787 points on the Geekbench 2 benchmark and added to its powerful brother XPERIA Z1 smartphone. Searching the Android interface is very fast by scrolling through the splash screens, no delay in opening the menu, or pulling down the notification bar.
