Famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, Thimpu will be your first stop. The capital of Bhutan is a unique fusion of modern development and ancient traditions. Visit incredible sites including Takin Sanctuary, home to the national animal of Bhutan, the Takin goat.

 

Witness the splendor behind Paro Taktsang (“Tiger’s Nest)” – one of the most famous Bhutanese monasteries – as it sits peacefully perched on the edge of a cliff, floating 900 meters above Paro Valley. A hike to the top of the cliff is rewarded with a viewing of arguably the country’s most sacred site, visited by all Bhutanese at least once.

 

Itinerary in Detail

 

Day1: Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel

 

Upon arrival at Kathmandu, Airport you will be met by a representative and transferred to the hotel, your first overnight in Nepal, the evening is free.

 

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

 

Following breakfast at the hotel, you set off for a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. Kathmandu is home to a wonderful mix of the ancient and the new. See the old temples and palaces of Kathmandu's Durbar Square, which epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people.

 

Here, the Kings of Nepal are crowned and solemnized. Also, visit Swayambhunath - commonly known as ‘Monkey Temple’ - a glorious Buddhist Stupa which stands atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley. This afternoon you will also visit Boudhanath Stupa.

 

Day 03: Kathmandu, Nepal - Paro, Bhutan – Thimphu

 

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Kathmandu airport for your flight to Bhutan. Upon arrival in Paro, you will clear customs and immigration. Please keep your copy of the visa clearance letter handy as your visa has been paid. Meet your guide and driver outside the terminal building and transfer to the hotel in Thimphu.

 

Day 04: Thimphu Sightseeing – Paro

 

Today you will enjoy a sightseeing tour in Thimphu. Take in the highlights including National Memorial Chorten, Zilukha Nunnery, Takin Sanctuary, an Indigenous Hospital, a Textile Museum, a Heritage Museum, a Traditional School of Arts & Crafts, and Tashicho Dzong. Afterward, travel to Paro and check in at the hotel.

 

Day 05: Paro - Tiger's Nest Monastery Hike

 

After breakfast visit the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). You can hike up (or you can ride a horse for approx. USD 40) to the Tiger’s Nest. The hike to the cafeteria will take around 2 hours, while the horse ride will take around 1.5 hours.

 

At the viewpoint enjoy the stunning view of the monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century. After the walk back down (no horse option) you will visit the Farm House, the National Museum, and a local market.

 

Day 06: Paro, Bhutan - Kathmandu, Nepal – Nagarkot

 

Today, after breakfast you will transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu, Nepal. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in Nagarkot to hopefully enjoy a spectacular sunset view and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 07: Nagarkot - Bhaktapur – Kathmandu

Enjoy an early sunrise, then after have breakfast and travel to Bhaktapur to embark on a sightseeing tour of the ancient Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

 

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is known for its immense and tragic historical features, which include heritage monuments that still echo the memories of ancient kingdoms. Afterward, continue onto Kathmandu and check into the hotel, Attend the fare well dinner.

 

Day 08: Transfer to the international airport for your final departure

 

Our escorts & vehicles will be on standby at your hotel to take you to the airport for your final departure home sweet home. It’s been wonderful knowing you. We hope to see you again!! Bon Voyage!
