To keep your skin soft and moisturized, your body produces sebum. Sebum is an oily substance produced by your body. When it is too much, your skin appear oily and lead to acne, blackheads, whiteheads, excess oil, pimples, etc. there is another reason too, like genetic, stress, etc. over-washing your face is not the solution in fact over-washing can be harmful to you, washing at night and in the morning is enough.

Cleanse

As suggested, washing your face twice is enough in the morning and at night. You may be tempted to wash your face in the day if you have super oily skin but it will worsen the condition. Your body starts producing sebum in access if you do so. You have the option, you can wash your face anytime in a day with normal water or use a tissue to wipe the face. Choose plant-based ingredients to face wash that breaks down oil without drying out your skin. You can also use ayurvedic face care products or organic skincare products for required results.

Toner

Toners serve to control excess oil, shrink the appearance of skin pores, and restore the skin's pH balance, which in turn keeps the skin moisturized while keeping germs at bay. Look for mild toner or natural toner for oily skin. Water-based toner will also work to hydrate and soothe the skin. Always remember to use products that suit your skin type or you can buy organic skincare products that also work for all types of skin.

Moisturise

Don’t think you don’t need moisturizer because you have oily skin. Most people commit this mistake, if you choose natural moisturizer it will hydrate your skin and you look naturally beautiful. Choose a moisturizer with glycerine and vitamin E. Organic skincare products in India is not much expensive you can also try them.

Exfoliate

Don’t be too harsh with your skin, care for your skin as per your skin type and accept the fact that you have oily skin. Don’t scrub the oil away vigorously, it will damage your skin. Use a gentle face wash or scrub once a week for sensitive skin or 2-3 times weekly if you have hardy skin. People think skincare products are required for women however it is equally important for men as well.

A beauty routine that involves daily cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, along with exfoliating regularly can benefit oily skin.

Protection from the sun

Experts say sun protection is important especially for oily skin. Going out in a sun without protection can damage your skin and can be a blunder for face care. Sometimes face care products are not able to heal the skin. Oil-based sunscreen can make your skin look greasy and also cause it to breakouts. Opt for physical sunscreen or water-based sunscreen to protect your skin. I prefer Sunscreen 5-in-1 Daily Lotion SPF 30+ UVA PA+++ because it really works

Use a facial Mask

The face mask is crucial for oil skin. You can use it once a week so that it removes all the dirt, dust, oil, pollution, and all impurities from the skin. You can choose a wide variety of natural, organic, or herbal face packs. If you want you to make the face pack at home for yourself.  For instance, you can use a banana face pack, aloe vera face pack, Gram flour, and curd face pack, cucumber face pack, Multanimitti face pack, etc. All these face packs work as ayurvedic face care. If you use you really feel like ayurvedic products working for you. All these face packs are appropriate for oily skin. Let’s dive into it with a banana face pack.

Food to avoid oily skin and consume

Swap dairy milk and cheese for almond milk and vegan cheese if you have oily, acne-prone skin. Get your calcium from almonds and leafy greens, and switch to dark chocolate from the milky variety.

Avoid inflammatory fats, saturated fats, trans fats. eat nuts like almonds and walnuts, cook with healthy fats like olive oil, and prefer poaching, broiling, and grilling over frying

Avoid sugary food. Natural sugars found in fruits and vegetables should be consumed in moderation. Satisfy cravings with dark chocolate, mangoes, berries, bananas, etc.

What you eat shows on your skin! Swap foods that trigger sebaceous glands for healthier alternatives.

Stay away from stress

When you are stressed, the level of cortisol, your body's stress hormone, rises. This can lead to increased sebum production, oily skin, and acne. Focus on important tasks, plan ahead so you're prepared for everything, get enough sleep, eat right, and exercise regularly to manage stress.
