My ₹69,119 EasyPhones Experience: What Every Refurbished Smartphone Buyer Should Know

I am sharing my personal experience with EasyPhones so that prospective customers can make an informed decision before purchasing refurbished smartphones.

In March 2026, I purchased a refurbished Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 (256GB) from EasyPhones for ₹69,119 (Order No. 5535).

Unfortunately, my experience turned into a prolonged dispute instead of the satisfactory customer experience I expected.

My experience and attempts to resolve the matter

After experiencing issues with the device, I contacted EasyPhones and sought an appropriate resolution. The company offered repair or replacement under its policy. However, I also requested compensation of ₹10,000 considering the inconvenience and the difficulties I experienced.

There was also an initial disagreement concerning the invoice. I subsequently located the correct invoice inside the original box and clarified the matter through the appropriate grievance channel.

Despite my attempts to resolve the dispute through customer support, email correspondence and the National Consumer Helpline, the matter remained unresolved to my satisfaction.

The company also made the return pickup conditional on certain clarifications and acceptance of its position regarding monetary compensation. We could not reach a mutually acceptable resolution.

Taking the matter to the Consumer Commission

After exhausting my attempts to resolve the issue directly, I approached the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission through the e-Jagriti platform. My consumer case is pending, and I am awaiting the legal process to proceed.

I am sharing this experience based on my own purchase, correspondence and ongoing dispute. I am not asking anyone to accept my experience blindly. I encourage prospective customers to do their own research before purchasing.

A message to prospective buyers

Before purchasing a refurbished smartphone, please carefully check:

  • The seller’s return and replacement policy.
  • The warranty coverage and actual condition of the device.
  • The procedure for reporting defects.
  • The seller’s approach to customer complaints.
  • The terms and conditions applicable to refunds and compensation.

A customer’s responsibility does not end after making payment. Equally, a seller’s responsibility should not end after delivering a product.

I hope EasyPhones takes this matter seriously and provides a fair resolution. I am open to an appropriate and mutually acceptable settlement.

This is my genuine consumer experience, shared to promote awareness and help other buyers make informed decisions.
