Swedish football fans caught up in rail strike

Two Swedish football fans who went to Sheffield to watch their group in the Euro 2022 semi-last have been up to speed in rail strikes.

Rebecka Ronnegard and Felix Nystrom confronted a twofold dissatisfaction subsequent to watching Sweden's loss to England.

On Wednesday they attempted to get a train to Milton Keynes for the second semi-last among France and Germany.

The couple said they "support the option to strike" however were unfortunate to become involved with the interruption.

Ms Ronnegard, 26, and Mr Nystrom, 27, had purchased Interrail passes for their vacation and went from Sweden to the UK via train fourteen days prior.

They had been wanting to get an early train to Birmingham and change to go to Milton Keynes, yet expressed none of the administrations had left the station.

The pair said they would make the excursion by taxi assuming no trains were accessible.

Ms Ronnegard said: "We just had a flight strike where the pilots were striking in Sweden thus many individuals had their flights dropped here to come to the Euros yet since we were going via train we were fine. That strike just completed as they agreed."

The couple watched the game at Bramall Lane on Tuesday and said they were disheartened about Sweden's 4-0 misfortune to England however the "better group won".

Ms Ronnegard, a political secretary, said: "I support the specialists, I truly do. The fact that it influences us makes it just unfortunate.

"I was simply so stunned over how long the strike has been. I feel like all gatherings would need to agree."

Fire engineer Mr Nystrom added: "I certainly support the option to strike to agree."
