The Best Camping Gear for First-Time Campers!

If you're an experienced backpacker, the gear you need to keep your backside covered is going to be a lot different than it is for a first-timer. If you want to backpack for long distances and camp out on your own, then you'll need more than just a sleeping bag and tent (or even two tents). You might want to get some extra food supplies, cookware, utensils, or even clothes for yourself (and your partner).

The first thing you'll need is a heavy-duty rope ratchet. This is what we use to hang our food, cook on and tie up our gear. This will allow you to get up high without having to worry about breaking things or getting stuck.

You'll also need some sort of toolboxes/storage unit for all of your gear. We currently use an old military ammo box with plenty of room for everything we carry on any trip. It's pretty lightweight and folds up small enough that it doesn't take up too much space when traveling with it.

Once you have all of this stuff packed away in your pack, you are ready to go.
