For most people, coffee is an integral part of their work lives. From the factory worker to the business administrator, everyone seems to rely a lot on coffee to get their day going.

Recent studies have shown that drinking more than two cups of coffee per day lowers the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and the intake of coffee has also been associated with a reduced risk of Parkinson's disease as well as Alzheimer's disease.

Though caffeine can cause the blood pressure to increase, according to a research conducted in 2011, The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition said there is "no association between long-term coffee consumption and increased blood pressure or between habitual coffee consumption and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease in hypertensive [patients].

The presence of a high amount of antioxidants in coffee is the important health-improving property in coffee. Coffee was the sole highest contributor of antioxidants, leapfrogging fruits and vegetables, according to the American Society for Nutritional Sciences' Norwegian study.

Workplace coffee has evolved over the years. Many employers continue to provide some sort of coffee supply since they have realized that many of their employees are known to be more productive on days when they take coffee. Companies and industries now treat coffee as a crucial employee perk.
