Second generation
Honda began introducing the first changes to the Honda Jazz at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. Its exterior received a more modern change. But what's most different is the car's wheelbase: the second-generation Jazz was made longer than before.
Also known as the GE8 code, the price of the Honda Jazz when it got a change did increase slightly compared to the previous edition. But the variety of display enhancements and technology on offer makes it all the more impressive.
Changes found in the cabin are the dashboard that receives technological improvements. If previously the dashboard was made a bit stiff and could only play regular tape, Jazz can now play CDs to accompany the driver while driving.
On the exterior, there are some changes, including bigger headlights and a wider grille design. Even so, the sporty feel of Honda's compact hatchback model hasn't changed much compared to the previous generation.
Other changes include an improved engine system. Still using the 1.5L engine capacity and the same i-VTEC technology as the previous generation, the power is made bigger with a record of 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,800 rpm.
Since 2008, the Honda Jazz has been marketed in Indonesia in three types. Where the entry level variant is type A, then there are Jazz S and Jazz RS which come as the highest variants. In terms of the technology it provides, the Jazz RS has all the systems and features that Honda has to offer the Jazz.
In 2011, Jazz received a refresher to enhance its exterior appearance. The Jazz S and Jazz RS receive revisions to the front and rear bumpers, a more modern grille, new stylish headlamps, and the addition of fog lamps to improve visibility.
PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) introduced new changes in 2013. All Honda variants are finally equipped with Dual Front SRS Airbag technology and ABS + EBD braking system. Making a used Honda Jazz is still in great demand even though he is no longer young.
The third generation
Compared to the two early generations of Honda Jazz, it is clear how Honda wanted to give it a more modern look when it introduced the third generation in 2014. PT HPM introduced the Jazz in June 2014 to be marketed the following year.
The exterior design received radical changes, including a new grille design and thinner headlights. Offers a more modern look with the presence of LED headlights, equipped with projectors and LED DRLs for the highest types. The fog lamps along with the bumper design complement the front changes.
The curves of the body are made more aggressive from the side to the back. The Jazz still maintains the rear-mounted mirror rod model found on the door and the small glass case on the A-pillar. The wheels use a 16-inch dual tone model, wrapped in Bridgestone Turanza 185/55 R16 tires.
Still presenting the 1.5L capacity engine, but this time using the L15Z1 model which is also used in the Honda Mobilio. Its strength is 122 PS and maximum torque of 145, being the largest in its class which is channeled to the front wheels.
Provided in three variant options as well as two transmission options, namely 5-speed manual and CVT, HPM has brought a special model named Black Top Limited Edition which was launched at the Indonesia International Motor Show in September of the same year.
azz received two minor changes. The first was in 2016 where Honda presented a new floating-style head unit design, additional cushioning for passenger airbags, and redesigned wheels.
The appearance is made modern with the new technology headlights on the Honda Jazz RS through the 2017 revision. In terms of handling and performance, Jazz is arguably still the best in its class thanks to its agile maneuverability and the price of a used Honda Jazz that remains stable in the market.
The fourth generation
The 2019 Honda Jazz is said to be the last year the third generation has been marketed. Because the global model of the Honda Jazz 2020, which was introduced in the middle of the year, provided significant changes, presenting a futuristic appearance compared to previous editions.
Unfortunately, in Indonesia, the 2019 Honda Jazz is still the choice of the latest variant offered, without changes since the last facelift was introduced in 2017. Likewise, sales of the Honda Jazz 2020 are still stagnant due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Conclusion
Changes since the first generation have made this Honda Indonesian car even more loved by fans. Comfort is getting better and the feeling of driving is fun to be the cause. There are also various Honda Jazz promos as well as the tempting appeal of the used Honda Jazz. Emphasizes Honda's hopes for one of its most popular hatchbacks to date.
