Question #1: How do you identify?

Aroace

Question #2: What are some of your favourite LGBTQIA+ books and authors?

I have yet to meet a Seanan McGuire book that I don't adore. I've enjoyed all the books I've read by her and enjoy the Wayward Children series but come on people check out her other books too.

Adam Silvera who seems to have a talent for writing heartbreaking and beautiful stories.

I really enjoyed the Toronto Connections by Cass Lennox: The first series I read that had ace characters that weren't just on the sidelines.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell is a fun book.

Geekerella is such a fun read. I have Ashley Poston's second book on hold at the library so I eager await reading that one. Eventually I'll hunt down a used copy since I loved Geekerella so much. I loved Sage. I need more of Sage.

Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde is another fun book. It has a bisexual character.

The Dreadnought series by April Daniels is really good. I just adore Dani. I wasn't too crazy about the romance that showed up in the second book but I did enjoy both books.

Question #3: How often do you talk about LGBTQIA+ books on your channel/blog etc, and what videos, blog posts etc of yours would you recommend people start with, if they’re looking for LGBTQIA+ content?

I can't find it but I think I did do a post with recommendations. I don't really know if I'm exactly the girl people flock to for book recommendations. I think other people might be better at that since I can't even find the post I'm pretty sure I did. I might do a reread of Simon VS The Homo Sapiens Agenda. I was disappointed by the second book and wonder if I loved this book as much as I thought I did. Sadly the movie just looks meh to me and I think the reason why is that the person behind it did a John Green movie and I'm not a fan. I do plan on checking out Shaun David Hutchinson.

Question #4: Who are your favorite LGBTQIA+ booktubers?

I think his latest name change is Richardmediageek, Peter Likes Books, and Benjaminoftomes

Question #5: When was the first time you encountered an LGBTQIA+ character in fiction?

Just like tons of young adult books weren't really a thing there weren't really any books that I'm aware of but I'm pretty sure that my first would be How To Be A Normal Person by TJ Klune which was my first ace book. That's a really great book. I think I'll give this author another try even though I didn't really care for a series that I tried after reading this. I read the first book and enjoyed it after all it had a talking unicorn and a wizard but in the second book the sex talk just got too boring for me and it was just too much. If I'd read The Fire's Stone by Tanya Huff sooner I could have included that. The author didn't have the words which certainly was the case for me too so I'm definitely going to read this since aroace rep is like finding a unicorn. I think there were gay characters in one of Jackie Collins books but I couldn't tell you which one. I think I read a lot of them so I could fit in and be "normal" like other people. I've always been more of a fantasy reader which kind of explains why I'm coming up empty.

Question #6: Anything else you want to add? And who do you tag?

Nope and as for tagging if anyone is reading this consider yourself tagged. Now go forth and answer the questions. Original link
