We’ve all been there: a "life interruption" hits—a failed business, a health scare, or a personal loss—and suddenly the momentum we spent years building comes to a grinding halt. According to celebrity life coach Tim Storey, these moments don’t have to be the end of your story. In fact, they are often the beginning of your greatest chapter.

In a recent interview on Inside Success TV, Tim Storey, known globally as the "Comeback Coach," sat down to discuss the principles of his Miracle Mentality and how anyone can navigate their way out of a slump and into a life of "utmost" living.

What is a "Life Interruption"?

Storey explains that most people start their journey with natural momentum. Think of a child at recess—they are loud, energetic, and "living out loud." But as we grow, life interruptions occur. Whether it's a financial crisis or a deep personal tragedy, these interruptions create a setback.

"A setback is just a set backwards," Storey notes. "The problem is that most people respond by nursing it, cursing it, or rehearsing it. But a comeback is not a go-back. You can't fix the past; you have to create the future."

The Four-Part Comeback Process

During the episode, Storey outlines a practical framework for anyone looking to reclaim their life:

  1. Awaken: You must first wake up to the reality of where you are without becoming paralyzed by it.
  2. Take Inventory: Look at your mindset, your habits, and your environment. What is serving you, and what is keeping you stuck?
  3. Partner with the Right People: Storey emphasizes that when people are in a setback, they tend to go "singular" (isolate themselves). To make a comeback, you must go "plural" and find mentors or a community that can pour into you.
  4. Establish New Principles: Your comeback requires a new set of rules and a commitment to daily growth.

Don't Fold While You're Unfolding

One of the most moving parts of the interview is Storey's advice to those in the middle of the struggle: "Don't fold while you're still unfolding." He uses the analogy of a poker game—folding means giving up on the hand you were dealt. Even if the cards look bad right now, the game isn't over.

Drawing from his experience coaching icons like Robert Downey Jr. and Oprah Winfrey, Storey reminds viewers that the "sting" of a setback is often just the labor pains of a breakthrough.

Why Serve the Underdog?

Storey’s passion for the "comeback" stems from his own roots in Compton and his early realization that he was a humanitarian at heart. Whether he is advising a Fortune 500 CEO or a kid in a deprived neighborhood, his message remains the same: your current situation is not your permanent destination.
