My Mama

The one person who has been with me in every moment, from my first breath to every heartbeat after.

For as long as I can remember it’s always been just me and her.

And honestly, that’s all I ever needed.

She raised me single handedly, not with complaints, not with fear, but with love so pure that it still protects me,no matter where I go.

My mama is everything. She’s my home, my strength,my soft place to fall when the world feels too heavy.

When I was a kid,I was a handful, restless, naughty, stubborn, full of energy. I used to test her patience every single day.

But you know what? My mama never shouted at me.Not even once.

Even when I made mistakes, even when I lost my temper, she stayed calm.

I’m short tempered,I admit that.I get angry over small things. But mama never let that change the way she looked at me.She never said a harsh word. She’d just smile, that small, knowing smile, and say softly, “Taha Raj’o leagsaya wandith.”

And in that one sentence, everything inside me would melt.

I was so attached to my mama.I used to sleep beside her every single night. Her heartbeat was my lullaby. Her warmth was my blanket. If I had to sleep without her,I couldn’t.I felt suffocated like the air itself was missing.

When I was sick as a kid,my mama used to come to school every morning during the assembly, just to give me my medicine.

I can still see her standing quietly in the crowd, waiting for my line to pass. When my eyes met hers, she’d smile and hand me the medicine with so much care. That one moment said everything her love, her protection, her world revolving around me.

I’ve always been her only child, and she’s always been my entire world. She never let me feel like I was missing anything in life. She filled every space with love, every day with laughter, and every moment with warmth.

Till 10th grade,I slept beside her.Every night,it was the same,me and my mama, talking about little things before sleep.

And then one day,I realized I had to grow up, had to move forward.

So I started sleeping separately, learning to be strong.

But even then,on some nights,I would lie awake and cry quietly.

I used to think, what would I do if my mama ever left me?

That thought would break me from inside.

I used to want to scream, but I couldn’t.

It felt like love and fear were living in my chest together.

After school, I moved to Delhi,

chasing dreams, trying to make a life.

But no matter where I go, no matter what I achieve, I miss her.

Every single day.

I miss her voice calling out, “Taha Raj.”

I miss her hands fixing my hair before school.

I miss her smile when I did something silly.

I miss how she’d pray for me quietly, thinking I didn’t notice.

My mama has given me everything — not just a good life, not just comfort or luxury, but love that never ends.

She never let me feel that I needed anyone else, because she became everything.

My mama is the most beautiful person I know, inside and out.

She’s patient, kind, strong, and full of grace. She taught me what real love looks like silent, steady, and unconditional.

No matter how far life takes me, I’ll always be her Taha Raj.

Her little boy. Her pride. Her heart walking outside her body.

And she will always be my home.

My safe place.

My forever. ❤️
