Let’s talk about one of the hottest topics these days - Ayahuasca retreats. They are now quite prevalent all over the United States. But Ayahuasca came from Peru. The Ancient medicinal plant brew was famous in Columbia, Peru, and Chile, known for its hallucinogenic properties.

You know that ayahuasca is a beverage, and there is a whole ritual performed before drinking it. What happens in that Ayahuasca ceremony

Before going for the retreat, you have to research the best places where this ceremony is performed. But let’s first understand what happens in the ceremony. And, of course, then you can move forward and join the retreat.

Ayahuasca has helped patients with mindfulness, addiction problems, and anxiety. Are you ready to know more about ayahuasca and the ceremony? Dive into this post to know more about the ayahuasca ceremony.

What happens during the Ayahuasca ceremony?

The ayahuasca ceremony is all about drinking vine tea or a hallucinatory beverage under the guidance of a Shaman. You need to have a respectable Shaman performing the ceremony.

Ideally, the ayahuasca ceremony is held on a full moon night, and the trip can last for about five to six hours. Ayahuasca comes from Peru, and yes, it is legal there. But, many retreats in the U.S. are now embracing this drink. In most parts of the U.S., the ceremony is still secretive and held underground, but the effects of the beverage are praiseworthy.

The respectable Shaman sings the ICAROS during the ceremony, which is an important part. The power of music is exceptional and extraordinary. A shaman is a healer with access to evil and good spirits.

Many patients or participants have felt that their hearts opened up and they felt peace in their mind. Ayahuasca is mostly referred to as feminine because the participants may hear the voice of higher intelligence, which is a female. The higher intelligence voice speaks to you while you are in the zone, and it tells you what you should be doing next in your life.

Sometimes ayahuasca does something to your heart and brain that several years of therapies can’t. Everyone will experience something different, but the effects will be life-changing. So, the ceremonies in retreats may be a bit different from what used to happen hundreds of years ago.

However, the participants have to follow a diet before the ceremony begins. Your body needs to eliminate sugar, salt, caffeine, and alcohol. The beverage will work towards helping you get rid of all the toxins you have in the body. So, ideally, participants are recommended to eat clean before the ceremony.

So, if you want to experience this ceremony, you must join a retreat. These days there are luxurious rehabs and retreats where you can participate in the ceremony and come out of depression, anxiety, addiction, and whatnot.

We live in a competitive and ruthless world, so taking a break and finding a solution for your changed behavior, mental health issues, addiction problems, and so on is important.

What to expect at an Ayahuasca Retreat?

Everyone needs to respect the uses of Ayahuasca. Indigenous people have been using it for centuries, and they know that the plant has healing qualities. Considering it is powerful and effective, some people attend these retreats.

Ayahuasca is considered to be a medicine, and we do not recommend it to use recreationally. Only a practiced healer who has studied and tried the medicine before can give you this beverage.

When you join the retreat, the participant has to refrain from alcohol, rich foods, sex, etc., for a brief period. The ceremony will be held in a wooden structure with a thatched roof. But check with the retreat about their arrangement because it may be different in some places.

The ceremony will begin in the evening and will end at dawn. As mentioned before, it is preferably held on a full moon night. You can expect about 20 participants in the ceremony, starting with a cleansing initiation. This is followed by ingestion of a medicinal tea which is ayahuasca. You may drink three cups of these - they are like espresso shots. A sense of calm and tranquility will fill your mind.

Participants can express themselves during the ceremony. They may cry, purge, or scream if they like.

If you want to experience peace and leave anxious thoughts behind, the ayahuasca ceremony is necessary. You can research and learn about the best ayahuasca retreats in the U.S.

Ayahuasca has helped many people come out of the dark pit - you can too! Don’t let depression and addiction take over your life.
