Know the schedule :

Firstly, the National Testing Agency (NTA), the organization that conducts JEE has rescheduled it for 2022. As per the new schedule, JEE Main, 2022 will have two sessions – Session 1 and Session 2.

The revised dates for Session 1 are :

20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 June 2022

The revised dates for Session 2 are:

21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 July 2022

Know the syllabus :

You are well aware that the JEE Main syllabus is based on the curricula of Class 11 and Class 12 subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Knowing the syllabus thoroughly is integral to cracking the exam. The syllabus consists of subject-wise topics. It’s best to check topics according to their weightage and divide each into easy, moderate, and difficult. This way, you can create a schedule for each subject and break it down further as per its difficulty level.

Know the exam pattern :

Since the exam will be conducted twice there will be two papers:

Paper 1 – B.E/B.Tech Paper 2 – B.Arch or B.Plan

The papers will be further segregated:

Paper 2 is divided into two more sections – Paper 2A and Paper 2B Paper 2 will be held separately for B.Arch and B.Plan

Both the papers will be in online mode, except the drawing exam for Paper 2A (B.Arch), which will be conducted offline.

The exam will be conducted in 13 languages

Every correct answer gets 4 marks while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer (negative marking).

Un-attempted questions will get zero or no marks.

Time management :

Prepare a timetable and stick to it. While creating, one, separate the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus. Then, divide topics according to easy, moderate, and difficult. You can even divide them as weak and strong and as per their weightage. This will give you a perspective on how to proceed with your preparation. A proper timetable is paramount as it will help you cover all the topics and leave time for revision.

Revision – the key :

Revision is undoubtedly the key to getting high marks. Learning, understanding, and revising topics daily helps. You may understand concepts, and solve problems, but old learnings tend to fade away from memory. Hence, constant revision is very important. Besides, rote-learning is discouraged…instead understand all concepts in-depth, which makes them easier to remember. Enrolling in a JEE Main crash course will also help you in your revision.

Make your own notes :

While it is important to read and understand topics, it is equally important to make your own notes. And, when we say own notes, we mean create them in your own words. You can make points, jot down formulae, create shortcuts, etc. When we write down something in our own words, we remember it better. Making your own notes will also be helpful in your revision.

Previous years’ question papers :

While creating your timetable, allot time to solve previous years’ question papers as well. Solving these papers or sample papers will familiarize you with the test pattern, the type of questions asked, and the marking scheme. It will also develop your accuracy and speed helping you solve all in the stipulated exam time. You will also get to solve sample papers if you are taking an online JEE Main crash course 2022.

Mock tests are helpful :

Besides solving sample and question papers, take mock tests to acquaint yourself with the exam scenario. These will help you to develop your time management and exam-taking skills greatly. Also, we suggest taking chapter-wise mock tests after you are done with one chapter and then, after you complete the entire syllabus, take full-length mock tests.

Get your doubts cleared :

While studying and preparing, you will naturally have doubts about a topic. We suggest getting these cleared from your teachers immediately as waiting till the end will not work. The sooner you resolve them, the better. Here’s where taking a JEE crash course 2022 will help as well. You can get all your doubts resolved at the coaching class in case your tutor is unavailable for some reason.

Self-analysis is important :

Self-analysis comes by taking tests regularly as they determine your speed, accuracy, time management skills, and of course, your knowledge. Why this is so? It is because these mock tests are designed to replicate the actual exam pattern and difficulty. This makes you well aware of your overall ability and how prepared you are for JEE Main.

Indulge in some TLC :

Amid all the study, learning, solving papers, and taking mock tests, do remember to pay attention to yourself as well. Hence, take short breaks in between studies, indulge in some relaxation techniques, eat healthy meals, get enough sleep, and keep a positive outlook. Stress and anxiety never got anyone closer to their goals, thus, do engage in hobbies and other fun activities to stay balanced and fit.

While there will be numerous more tips to prepare for JEE Main, we have gleaned the most important and effective ones for you here. Study daily, stick to the timetable diligently, solve questions papers, and take mock tests and you are on the right path. However, it is also important to start as early as possible to score high on this exam. Besides, taking a JEE Main crash course, along with your self-study preparation will put you at an advantage as well. Study smart, and Goodluck!
