If you plan to play multiple sessions in one day, scale your volatility downward as the day progresses. Your mental energy is highest in the first session. Play higher volatility then. By the third or fourth session, fatigue has set in. Play lower volatility to protect against fatigue-based mistakes. I started scaling my volatility this way after noticing that my later sessions consistently performed worse than earlier ones, even with the same games. Some platforms categorize games by volatility, making this scaling easy — on the site has clear labels.

Example schedule: Session 1 (morning) — high volatility. Session 2 (afternoon) — medium volatility. Session 3 (evening) — low volatility.

Never play high volatility after 10 PM. Fatigue plus high variance is a dangerous combination. Your decision-making is compromised even if you feel alert.
