What is the recruitment process like for studies in UK?
The recruitment process for studies in London is not much different from that in UK. It requires familiarizing yourself with the educational offer, organizing accommodation and means of living (e.g. scholarship, additional work), completing the necessary documents and submitting an application online.
Recruitment process for studies in London can be easily described in 7 steps
Recognition
Before any major undertaking, you should research - the same applies to studying in London. Initially, you should familiarize yourself with interesting universities\' educational offers and requirements. It is also worth taking into account the atmosphere in selected establishments. A real treasure trove of knowledge on this topic is open days and university fairs, usually organized at the beginning of the year. Nothing is lost if such an event does not take place - the majority of the information is readily accessible on the official websites of each university.
Learning and passing the language exam
The IELTS certificate is valid indefinitely, but it is worth obtaining it no earlier than 2 years before starting your studies in UK. It is a 9-step assessment of language skills such as listening, reading, writing and speaking. Language schools or independent study can be utilized to prepare for the exam, contingent upon the candidate\'s level of resolve.
Preparation of a list of universities
On the UCAS platform, you should list interesting universities and courses. It is important to arrange them in descending order - from the most to the least desirable position. This is nothing new for Pakistani students who applied to high school similarly, so it should go smoothly.
Apply to prestigious universities in UK!
- English universities rank high in international rankings every year.
- At the same time, these are the best universities in Europe.
- Recruitment can be time-consuming, so it is worth planning it well with the help of an advisor.
- Effective application to UK with assistance of UK visa consultants in Lahore. Professional mentoring. Help in obtaining a visa.
Completing the documents
Another classic is completing documents, which is something everyone knows. The candidate\'s dossier should include, among others:
- references – usually a cover letter prepared by yourself and an opinion written by a teacher
- high school leaving certificate
- Matura exam results
It\'s probably no surprise that all these documents must be in English! While references are immediately prepared in a foreign language, the certificate and results issued by the school require translation. Any translation agency will take care of it. It is also important to remember to submit the appropriate documents on time. It is worth following the admission schedule on UCAS or the university\'s official website.
- Application and waiting for the results
- Organization of accommodation and additional means of living
It is worth organizing the stay abroad to ensure that the waiting time for the results is not too stressful for the candidate. Renting a room, apartment or place in a dormitory? What location is suitable? Taking up a part-time job or financing your studies from your pocket? If additional work, where? Actively seeking answers to these questions will take your mind off the worries and help you stay organized once you receive your results.

Do I need a student visa to study in London?
The answer is YES. The withdrawal of Great Britain from the European Union deprived (among others) Pakistani students of the privileges they previously had. One of them is the freedom to move and study in UK. This is not good news for future students because it involves additional formalities. However, it turns out that getting a student visa is not as difficult as it seems.
How to get a student visa?
You must submit the following materials with your application for a student visa:
- Passport - an application for its issuance is submitted to the Provincial Office; you receive the document after about 30 days,
- a document confirming admission to one of the English universities,
- IELTS UKVI certificate, which we wrote about earlier; confirmation of language qualifications is necessary to undertake studies abroad - the certificate will not only be used to obtain a visa but will also enable admission to the selected university.
The documents can be submitted in person at the visa center in UK (most such institutions are in Warsaw). However, the most convenient method is to use the UK Immigration: ID Check application. Scans of the necessary documents and a photo of your face are sufficient to apply electronically.
Visa and insurance costs
Regarding obtaining a visa, you should expect a one-time expense of £348. You must also consider health insurance because the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) is an EU document. The annual insurance cost for a student is approximately £470.
A student visa entitles you to stay in the UK not only for the duration of your studies. Its holders also have an additional month before the start of the academic year - this is time for accommodation. Graduates may apply for a graduate visa after completing their studies; the visa validity period is two years for master\'s and bachelor\'s degrees and three years for doctorates.
Can I work in London if I have a student visa?
When considering and planning your studies in London, it is worth checking what is allowed and not for foreign students. A student visa allows you to stay and study in the UK, but some restrictions exist.
Laws
As the name suggests, the document authorizes you to study and join student organizations. The visa also allows you to work - the number of hours depends on the type of studies (field of study, organization) and the work date. However, it is worth remembering that the tax-free amount in UK is £12,500. Annual income that does not exceed this amount is not taxed.
