Advancements in technology have resulted in advancements in almost all sectors. One such sector is tracking and navigation. UWB Indoor Positioning System is being used extensively by numerous countries globally. Companies that use indoor positioning systems have experienced various advantages over the years.
What Is UWB Indoor Positioning System?
UWB stands for ultra-wideband. Thus, as the name suggests, the UWB Indoor positioning System uses radio waves with short wavelengths to track the position of a package or person. Indoor Positioning System is the same as Global Positioning System (GPS) other than the fact that indoor positioning system helps you track goods inside a building while GPS cannot do that.
Advantages of an Indoor Positioning System:
There are numerous advantages that an indoor positioning system.
-They have high accuracy.
-They help you track goods and packages.
-Great for logistics companies with large warehouses.
-Helps save time when looking for a product.
-The product’s location can be monitored remotely. All you need is an internet connection.
-Reduce the cost of under-utilized sources.
-They consume low electricity.
-Flexible and can be used in various places.
-They tend to have a low latency rate.
-Easy installation process.
How Does an Indoor Positioning System Work?
A sensor, probably a tracking tag is attached to the desired products or packages. The positioning anchors detect the location of the desired product/package using ultra wide-band (UWB) short waves. The location is then conveyed to the owner via UbiTracks’s platform which has a very user-friendly interface. This makes tracking really easy and effective. The platform can display real-time location via tags and anchors.
