A normal sperm count ranges from 15 million spermatozoa to over 200 million spermatozoa per milliliter of semen. Anything less than 15 million sperm per milliliter, or 39 million sperm per ejaculate, is considered low.

Low sperm count symptoms

The main symptom of low sperm count is that a person is unable to have children. There are no other obvious signs or symptoms of this problem. In some cases, there are other problems that can cause a lack of sperm, such as hereditary imbalances in hormones, enlarged testicular veins, and conditions that block the passage of sperm. Often symptoms of these problems are also seen along with low sperm count.

Sexual problems – loss of libido or difficulty in maintaining tension in the penis.Pain, swelling, or lump in the testicular area.Loss of facial or body hair or other signs of a chromosome or hormone abnormality.
