Specific training is required in order to become a scaffolding assembler and dismantles. This is established by both national laws and those of the various local authorities.
Every scaffolding company knows that it cannot employ general workers to assemble and disassemble scaffolding. In fact, the law provides that in order to become workers in the assembly and disassembly of scaffolding, one needs to follow specific training courses.
The individual Regions and Municipalities who have chosen to better outline the guidelines on the necessary training path. Precise laws that we all must follow to guarantee safety in the workplace and the protection of people, not only those who work with us, but also those who are near the workplace.
In particular The employer is responsible for the safety of his employees and for making the entire scaffolding safe, as well as the surrounding operating area.
The assembly must be carried out in a workmanlike manner as established by the scaffolding assembly, use and dismantling plan. At the same time, this same rule establishes that it is the employer himself who must ensure the correct training of the technicians.
Regarding Trainers:
All the information regarding trainers, duration, addresses and minimum requirements to make the course valid are provided in rule Book. It must also be completed for workers who carry out construction work on ropes.
The minimum requirements to organize a training course are:
Find a training project manager;Keeping a register showing the names of each person who will take the course;Number of participants that must not exceed 30 people;For courses that include practical parts, there must be one trainer for every 5 participants, if there are 5 or less participants, two trainers will still be required;Each participant cannot exceed 10% of the absences on the training courses.
INFORMATION ON THE TRAINING COURSE:
Among the various information contained in the various decrees we find the obligation that the course be carried out during working hours. The cost must be borne by the employer himself. But be careful, these specialized training courses do not replace all the compulsory ones that are foreseen for all types of workers called to access the construction site, but are added to them.
As mentioned, each course, in order to be valid, must possess minimum requirements. Each trainer has the right to choose whether or not to carry out more specific training courses for the various types of professionals.
PROGRAM AND FORMAT OF A TRAINING COURSE IN THE SCAFFOLDING SECTOR:
In this sector, the course must be structured in three different modules, with a total duration of 28 hours plus a final exam. Let's see how it will be divided:
The final exam involves an evaluation provided by an internal commission of teachers called to establish whether or not the candidate is suitable for carrying out the job of scaffolding assembler. The employer will then undertake to have his workers follow an additional training course every 4 years for updates on regulations, assembly-disassembly techniques and technological innovations. Refresher courses have a minimum duration of 4 hours.
