Before I start giving lame excuses as to why I really wanted to install an AC by myself, I will simply accept the fact that I never had and I never will make a bigger blunder than this particular one. Ever since I was a little kid, I had his strange fascination with machines, especially appliances. This sounds funny and weird as well but that is how it is. We recently bought a new AC, and I was extremely excited that I will be the one to install it. My father knew that I read about such stuff, but he still considered me an amateur to do it all so soon, so he refused.
He said we will like the work to be done by some professional AC installation company in Texas City TX. The word "professional" just kept stuck in my mind like someone was pricking my head blindfolded with a fork. In the evening, my parents had to go to a party, so I just thought that this is the moment when I will prove my talent and professionalism to my parents, and then to the world. I was still not that mature as I am not, but humans are created to learn after mistakes.
When my parents were about to leave, my excitement started jumping in my stomach. I was so anxious.I had my tool kit ready and as soon as they left, I decided to start working on my mission residential air conditioning installation. I was confident about myself uncaring what my parents thought. I had been researching for AC and other home appliances systems and their designing, so I thought I will get through it easily. Now, when I look back, I think that pride really hath a fall because I literally fell two times while trying to fix the outdoor unit and the split system.
Everything was going fine. Although a bit messy; but fine. I was trying to fix the indoor when it suddenly just fell off the wall because the support was not settled in the way it should be. For a moment, there was a thrashing sound and then a sudden silence. My heart stopped for a while and then started beating faster than ever. I thought to myself that dad will kill me. I just dialed a number I took from my friend because of my father, but they said they did only commercial AC installation. I thought that I couldn't afford to pay the AC installation price right now.
The matter had not yet resolved, and my parents came back; surprisingly with a technician. He was shocked to see the mess I made. My father looked at me in shock mixed with anger and confusion. Maybe he wasn't expecting all this. I wasn't either. We weren't even sure whether the AC will work or not, but it did, and I was saved from the curse of my father after quite a lot of scolding.
