You're aware, on some level, that soda is bad for you. Water is clearly the superior choice. And yet, you keep on drinking it... We understand since we've been there too. Now that you know how these seven soda elements affect your body, you may join us in our effort to wean the world off of sugary soda and onto healthy, hydrating water.

Fructose-Rich Corn Syrup

The elevated levels of fat, triglycerides, and cholesterol in the body may be attributed to this concentrated type of sugar. High fructose corn syrup is known to stimulate appetite. It's the first step on a slippery slope that ends in diabetes and obesity.

Formaldehyde

Put off using formaldehyde until after your funeral. Aspartame decomposes into this substance when consumed. Aspartame, a popular additive to diet drinks, has been linked to a laundry list of health problems.

Food dyes

Unnatural food coloring is a leading contributor to attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, yet few people know about it. Almost all kid-friendly foods, including soda, include the artificial food coloring. And we're baffled by their inability to chill down!

Too many sugar substitutes

Is it true that you can't go a day without wanting a soda? And that the intensity of those desires is growing. This is due to the fact that the artificial sweeteners in your drink are very addicting.

Potassium Benzoate

It's a preservative that turns into a carcinogen when exposed to light and metabolized by the body. To me, soda is starting to seem like a whole can of cancer-causing chemicals.

Phosphoric Acid

Obviously, you shouldn't put anything with the term "acidic" in it in your mouth. Have you ever seen how quickly even a drop of Coke can erode an object? The same thing happens to your teeth, bones, and gut.

Because of all this, you should drink filtered water. It will make you healthy, and you will never go back to drinking soda again.
