Outfitter Himalaya offers a tour in winter in Nepal. From mid-December to the end of February is the winter season in Nepal. Adventure trekking into the high Himalayas is not recommended in winter in Nepal. However, Nepal has many other places of interest that can be visited in Nepal in the winter season.

 

There are many tours program and small & short treks in Nepal that are available in winter. We at Outfitter Himalaya have prepared a 10-day Nepal winter tour. The Nepal winter tour includes a visit to the capital city of Kathmandu, Pokhara, 3 days hike on Dhampus and Sarangkot, and Chitwan National Park. 

 

The winter tour in Nepal starts with your arrival in Kathmandu then you go for a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu that includes a visit to Monkey temple, Kathmandu durbar squire, Boudhanath stupa, and Pasupatinath temple. You then drive to Pokhara and go hiking on Dhampus and Sarangkot.

 

You then drive to Chitwan National Park and go for the Tharu village tour, Jungle walking tour, Jeep safari, and canoe ride. You also see the Tharu Cultural stick dance program then return to Kathmandu the next day.

 

Itinerary in detail

 

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel

 

Our escort and driver from Outfitter Himalaya meet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel. Our representative helps you check into your designated hotel.

 

Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu

 

After breakfast at the hotel, you go for a full-day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and Kathmandu is the historical hub of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors.

 

The city presents an interesting holy mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and western influence in the valley. You visit the famous Hindu shrine of Pashupatinath, the largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal Boudhanath, Swoyambhunath, and Kathmandu durbar squire, and all these sites you visit are UNESCO recognized World Heritage sites.

 

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

 

You drive along the scenic Trisuli and Marsyangdi River valley to reach Pokhara, it’s a pretty good drive as you go by the beautiful river valleys, and you can view Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu peak as well during the drive.

 

Pokhara is a tourist's paradise full of natural and cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, & temples of Buddhists and Hindus along with her lovely mountains; after 6 hours of drive, you arrive in Pokhara, the city of lakes…Welcome to this beautiful town of serene lakes that gives so much meaning to your holidays.

 

Day 04: Pokhara to Dhampus Hike

 

After having breakfast at the hotel, you drive to Phedi, which takes about an hour then you start the hike to Dhampu,s which takes about 2 hours.

The hike to Dhampus goes through cultivated terraces and Gurung, Brahmin, and Chhetri villages, reach Dhampus, have lunch and visit in and around the Dhampus village.

 

Day 05: Dhampus- Naudanda to Sarangkot Hike

 

You see the beautiful panoramic view with sunrise rising on the field terrace in the morning. We start the hike to Naudada, and stop at Naudada to have lunch, and another few hours of hike will take you to Sarangkot.

 

Day 06: Sanrangkot to Pokhara

 

You wake up early morning and climb up to view tower, that takes about 10 to 20 minutes. You see an awesome view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna Range, Himchuli, Fishtail, Lamjung Himal Range and a good view of Pokhara valley.

 

The hike starts once you have breakfast at the lodge then hike about 2-3 hours to Phedi and drive to Pokhara. You visit Bindhyabisini temple on the way to Pokhara.

 

You go for a sightseeing tour in Pokhara that include Boat at Phewa Lake, and Devi’s falls.

 

Day 07: Drive from Pokhara to Chitwan

 

After early morning breakfast, we will drive to Chitwan – check into our jungle lodge, and embark on a wildlife Tharu village tour.

 

Day 08: Full day of go-wild jungle activities

 

After b/fast amidst the sweet chirping of birds, we set out for a Full day of jungle activities that include Jungle Walking, Elephant Back Riding Safari across streams & into the jungles.

 

We also enjoy watching the Elephants bathing and visiting the elephant Breeding centre, at the eventide, while having supper, we enjoy a scintillating Tharu cultural stick dance that’s exciting to watch in the evening.

 

Day 09: Drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu

 

After b/fast, we will take you for an interesting Bird watching tour in the morning and drive to Kathmandu.

 

Day 10: Transfer to the international airport for your final flight departure
