World Youth Day 2023

World Youth Day 2023 is a Catholic festival that will be held in Lisbon, Portugal. The event was originally scheduled to be held in summer of 2022, but this has been changed. It was announced at the closing Mass of the World Youth Day in Panama City, Panama. Pope Francis and Bishop Kevin Farrell also made the announcement.

Official theme song

World Youth Day is an annual event that brings together hundreds of thousands of young Catholics from all over the world. Each year, young people gather in a city to attend a weeklong festival. It promotes peace, unity, and fraternity. The theme is inspired by the Bible's story of Mary's rise from her womb.

Organizers of World Youth Day have released an official theme song for the event. Titled "Ha Pressa no Ar," the song is a fun ode to the Blessed Virgin.

While the lyrics are not new, the song is actually the product of a contest. Over 100 submissions were received. A jury of professionals evaluated the entries and selected the winner.

The song was composed by Pedro Ferreira of the Diocese of Coimbra in central Portugal. He is a musician and teacher. In addition to the song's music, it is also accompanied by a poem by Fr. Joao Paulo Vaz, who is a priest in the same diocese.

Schedule of events

Every three years, Catholic youth and adults gather for World Youth Day (WYD) in a different country. This is an intense moment of evangelization, where young people respond to the invitation to experience the universal church.

The WYD program is a wide range of cultural, religious and artistic events. These include theatrical performances, concerts, and religious, artistic and evangelizing meetings. There are also opportunities to participate in sports and other cultural activities.

For World Youth Day 2023, Lisbon, Portugal will host the event. Millions of young people from around the world will come to attend this global festival of faith. As with previous WYD's, the theme for this year's event is "Mary, the Protagonist" and Mary of Nazareth will be a central figure.

The schedule of events for World Youth Day will follow the usual schedule. There will be opening ceremonies, prayer nights and mass, as well as a reception ceremony and final Mass.

Hostels in Lisbon for World Youth Day 2023

Lisbon is a great city for a solo traveler or backpacker. There is a wide variety of hostels to choose from. However, they vary in quality and amenities. You will want to do some research to find the best one for you.

One of the nicest things about a hostel is that you can meet other travelers. Some even organize activities and tours that you can take part in. It is also a great way to learn about the city.

For example, you can take a free walking tour. Depending on the hostel you choose, you will get to explore some of the most popular places.

While you are out and about in the city, be careful with your belongings. If you're not careful, you could end up getting pickpocketed.

Aside from meeting other travelers, a hostel can be a good option for those looking to save money. Most of these accommodations offer free breakfast and Wi-Fi. Plus, most rooms are private.

New Orleans young adult pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2023

If you are a young adult in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, then you will want to join in the pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2023. This trip will take place from July 29 through August 7, 2023, in Lisbon, Portugal. It is a six-day event hosted by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Verso Ministries. There are separate tracks for high school and junior high students. During this pilgrimage, you will participate in group activities and catechesis sessions.

For a young adult, this is an opportunity to make connections with other Catholics in your area. You will also have the chance to learn more about the events planned for World Youth Day in Lisbon, as well as explore the Catholic traditions of Portugal. In addition, you will be able to meet with hundreds of other local participants from parishes, schools and ministries.

While you are on this pilgrimage, you will also be able to enjoy an overnight stay outdoors in Portugal. During your stay, you will have the chance to participate in a prayer vigil, which will be led by the Archdiocese of New Orleans CYO/Youth and Young Adult Ministry Office.
