WWE Super ShowDown is a high profile WWE event that is hosted each year in New York City. It is one of WWE's premier events, featuring top WWE stars as they face off in an all-star match for the WWE World Heavyweight title. WWE Super ShowDown was my first WWE PPV and I was blown away with how much fun it was. WWE Super ShowDown features some of WWE's top stars in a do-it-yourself, come to own affair where wrestlers get to face off in a WWE ring for a WWE world title shot. It's a great way to get some high-octane WWE action in the ring. This past weekend's edition of WWE Super ShowDown had some incredible matches, with John Cena beating Randy Couture in a spectacular match and Rhyno on his return to Raw reeling from his recent loss to Christian. The show did have its highs and lows, but overall a fantastic show to watch.
WWE Super ShowDown Live is my second favorite WWE pay-per-View event of this year. I love the big match bonuses at the end of each episode, which usually are an exciting ladder match or a very fun title shot for one of my favorite WWE stars, like Randy Orton or Triple H. I love the WWE Super Show concept and the fact that it goes back to WWE tradition of giving its pay-Per-View customers something that is little short of spectacular. My favorite matches on WWE Super ShowDown Live were: WWE Elimination Chamber, WWE World Title Match, WWE Women's Title Match, WWE Tag Team Classic, WWE Unforgiven, and finally the granddaddy of them all, WWE Royal Rumble.
I'm not sure why it's so hard to like WWE Super ShowDown Live. I've seen every single episode and for the most part they are pretty much exactly what you would expect, which is pretty boring. Vince McMahon is always stating that this is a "gateway to the world" and that we will see some huge announcements at the announce table during the show. However, until now nothing has happened and I'm sure that will change at the press conference. I'm just not convinced that WWE should spend their profits on these kind of shows, especially when they aren't making that much from the previous three events.
I think that WWE could save themselves a lot of money by hiring a world-class promotion and give WWE Super ShowDown Lives a miss. WWE World Title Match, Royal Rumble and Rollin' With The King are huge money makers for WWE and have proven themselves to be excellent company to work for. WWE could take their lumps and still make a profit with WWE Super ShowDown Live. If WWE just stuck with this kind of stuff, they will be getting beat down in the ratings, which is more than most people want to see. Many people are even calling for the WWE to fire their wrestlers because they aren't raking in the profits they used to.
WWE Super ShowDown is a brand new series of matches that will debut on February 4th. WWE is going to feature some big stars like kayaker Mark Henry, WWE Diva Natalya, WWE Cruiserweight Classic Stars Rich Brooks and Randy Orton, WWE Superstar Randy Orton, and much more. Many people are wondering how WWE is going to top this year's Royal Rumble. The WWE has given some hints through the weeks that they might be doing something special for WWE Super ShowDown and have also mentioned Feijin host Ric Flair as possibly joining the show. They did tease the idea of Ric Flair becoming a WWE Superstar, but it remains unconfirmed whether he is considering doing so or not.
WWE Super ShowDown can only be viewed on WWE Network through the WWE app, so you need to download it to watch. WWE has released some great information regarding WWE Super ShowDown, including a list of all the wrestlers participating, when the episode will air, who is hosting the show, who will be hosting, how the show works and much more. If you have the WWE app, you will be able to go to WWE Super ShowDown and see it in action. Other sports packages, like Spike TV and Direct TV, don't have this content available.
