After becoming Black Twitter's favorite Sistas couple, BET+ and Tyler Perry Studios have given Zac and Fatima their own spinoff titled Zatima Show. The show follows the couple as they navigate through life's ups and downs.

During a recent Q& A, series stars Devale Ellis and Crystal Renee Hayslett discussed the show's launch and their hopes for fan takeaways from the series.

Zac (Devale Ellis)

Devale Ellis is an American actor and former wide receiver. He was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2006. After retiring from the NFL, Ellis pursued a career in acting. He is currently married to Khadeen Ellis, and together they have three sons: Jackson, Kairo, and Kaz. The pair run a comedy-filled YouTube channel called “The Ellises” where they showcase family vlogs and skits.

In Tyler Perry’s Zatima, the spinoff from Sistas, Ellis, and Hayslett portrays a young couple who take a big step in their relationship. They must contend with old friends and new temptations on their journey to a happily ever after.

The BET+ series premieres Wednesday at 10/9c. The cast includes series regulars Cameron Fuller, Remington Hoffman, and Nzinga Imani, along with recurring actors Jasmin Brown, Guyviaud Joseph, and Danielle LaRoach. Fuller portrays Nathan, Zac’s conflicted friend who resents his move-in with Fatima and their shared responsibilities. Hoffman plays Bryce, a new friend of Zac’s who helps him with his stock investments and becomes his confidant.

The duo’s romance takes center stage in the 10-episode season. But as the couple grows closer, pitfalls arise, including an ex-girlfriend’s complicated pregnancy and new friends who make their relationship harder. Despite these obstacles, the pair remain committed to their future together

Fatima (Crystal Renee Hayslett)

Fatima is a spunky, independent woman who takes matters into her own hands. She’s not afraid to stand up for herself or her friends and she has a lot of love in her heart for everyone around her.

Hayslett was born and raised in Martin, Tennessee. She attended the University of Tennessee at Martin where she earned a degree in Mass Communications/Public Relations. She then moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for a senator on Capitol Hill for two years before moving to Atlanta in order to pursue her dream of being an actress and singer Zatima.site

She’s made quite a name for herself as the leading lady of Tyler Perry’s Sistas, where she portrays the fiery and confident Natalie. She also guest starred on The Real and has been cast in the upcoming movie Praise This.
