The kitchen is a budget-eater. A lot of the things we put in it are absolute essentials and require a regular budget refill. We shop for food regularly, we can’t cook without paying for electricity or gas, the fridge constantly uses power day in and day out—you get the point.

Because of that, money-saving kitchen tips are always relevant. Let’s start with three simple ones that you can easily try today.

Reuse your sandwich spread jars

Sandwich spread jars can be used in a variety of ways. They make great pots for little plant babies, flower vases, frozen oat containers, spice canisters, and many many more.

Glass jars are especially interesting. So before throwing them away, think of how you can reuse them to spruce up your kitchen and save you from having to buy new containers.

Store liquid condiments in bottles with spouts

Too much of anything rarely results in something good, especially when you’re cooking. So to avoid overpouring your liquid ingredients, a wise thing to do is to use kitchen bottles with spouts

Also, don’t use just any bottle. As many studies prove, using light-proof bottles will help preserve consumables for a long time. So why not use them instead of ordinary containers with no preserving benefits?

Additionally, you might also want to invest in a light-proof dish for solid goods, like herbs, grains, and powders.

Freeze leftover drinks in ice trays

Can’t finish your coffee? Pour it into an ice tray and let it freeze! When you’re in the mood for some icy drinks, you can get the frozen cubes out and drop them into a glass of cold coffee.

You can also do the same for tea, fruit juices, and water.

What other kitchen hacks have saved you lots of money?
