What Is Candidiasis?
In the human body, there are numerous different types of fungus. Candida is one of the types. It's a form of yeast that can be found in little numbers in your mouth and tummy, as well as on your skin, without creating any difficulties. When the conditions are ideal, though, the yeast can multiply and develop uncontrollably.
Candidiasis is the infection it causes. It comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. The majority of the time, over-the-counter or prescription drugs will suffice.
What are the signs and symptoms of cutaneous candidiasis?
A rash is the most common symptom of cutaneous candidiasis. Redness and itching are common side effects of the rash. The infection can cause the skin to become cracked and painful in some circumstances. Blisters and pustules are other possible side effects.
The rash can appear anywhere on the body, but it's most likely to appear in the skinfolds. The armpits, groin, between the fingers, and under the breasts are all examples of this. Candida can infect the nails, the edges of the nails, and the corners of the lips.
