April 12, 2024 – BOISE, Idaho. The Chad Daybell court trial is garnering the attention of the whole world. Few developments in the past have given a new direction to this case. On June 9, 2020, Chad Daybell was arrested on the charges of triple murder. Since then, his court trial has been rescheduled back and forth. But in 2024, the dates of his courtroom trial finally got official. Two trials have already been conducted. The court was resumed for Day 3 and Day 4 sessions on April 10 and 11. On Day 3, prosecutors presented Ray Hermosillo, a detective of Rexburg Police, as a primary witness. In the next session (Day 4), Hermosillo gave valuable information regarding this case. Here’s the summary of the fourth-day court trial of Chad Daybell’s case.
First Round of Testimony in Chad Daybell Court Trial
At 11:00 a.m., Detective Ray Hermosillo, an employee of Rexburg Police, took a stand. He said, ‘he was contacted by Fremont Sheriffs, who transferred the case to Rexburg Police. Upon questioning about the jeep (which was involved in the possible murder case of Charles Vallow and Brandon Budro in Arizona) by prosecutors, Ray gives valuable information.

He clearly explains how he got involved in this case. Initially, Rexburg Police asked him to do the surveillance, but later, Gilbert Police insisted on searching for JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan as their grandparents had registered a report that it had been many days since they hadn’t heard from him.
Gilbert Police even gave him the address of the Apartment complex where JJ and Tylee’s mother, Lori Vallow, was living with her husband, Chad Daybell. In no time, Ray got a warrant to investigate Daybell’s residential space.
Upon investigating each corner, Ray’s team found out Tylee’s body was buried in the backyard of the property. Also, Ray said,
They just found the remains of the burned body of Tylee, and some parts of her body were found in a green plastic bucket.
After this, Ray described how his investigative team found the body of JJ Vallow.
The 7-year-old boy was buried under a tree, while some large stones and wood paneling were placed over the area to hide his body. Upon clearing the area, his body was found to be wrapped in garbage bags.

In response to the statements of Roy Hermosillo, John Prior (defense attorney) did the cross-examination in which he tried to blame Lori Vallow and her brother Alex Cox for the murders. He argued numerous times about how Vallow and Cox were manipulating Chad Daybell.
Highlights of the Court Session
8:44 a.m. – Day two of Chad Daybell’s court trial was resumed. The room is not much crowded.
Around 8:50 a.m. – Ray Hermosillo, Rexburg detective, is back on the witness stand. He told the whole story about discovering the bodies of JJ and Tylee.
9:16 a.m. – Ray describes the condition of the dead bodies of JJ and Tylee when his team initially investigated Chad’s residential space.
Around 10:00 a.m. – The photos of the dead bodies of Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow are presented before the judge and jurors. The court avoided live telecasting the images as the conditions of the bodies in the photos were disturbing and terrifying.
1:15 a.m. – After a lunch break, the court has resumed. More testimonies and witnesses from the prosecutors are shaping the new developments in the case.
When will the next session be?
Finally, the judge confirmed that the next trial would not be on Friday. Testimonies and witnesses’ arguments will resume on Monday.
