Manchester Terriers are lively and spirited dogs, bearing the traits of true terriers. These dogs were developed in Manchester in England, where they were bred for the purpose of rabbit coursing and ratting. In Victorian England, this breed was known as Gentleman's Terriers. They are certainly not sparring dogs, but they do love to chase. With that, it comes as no surprise that Manchester Terriers may excel at agility at flyball.

They share a resemblance with Miniature Pinschers (only larger) and miniature Doberman Pinschers, but Manchester Terriers have their own traits and personalities. These terriers are wee dogs that produce strong barks and are best described as hearty, terrific, and loyal watchdogs who love to hang out with the family. Manchester Terriers are generally well-mannered compared to most terrier breeds. They're also more responsive. Today, these pups excel as terrific companions. They are known to be able to fulfill all their responsibilities.
