Dog Grooming -- Bathing And Blow- Drying

Most grooming sessions often start with a full bath to wash the coat and condition it for cutting. The hair has to be fully dry and clean for a haircut to be even. To eliminate extra hair length or matting, a groomer may occasionally do a rough cut using clippers before washing your dog. Your dog and his groomer will have an easier and more thorough wash. Groomers use different razors and clippers in various types of cuts. They do not use a clipper that has been previously used. This will prevent any cross-contamination from happening.

A groomer will fully blow-dry your dog's hair before clippers or scissors are used to trim it. This process should be done manually so the groomer can ensure that all parts of your pet's coat are dry and ready for cutting. Although it might take time, it makes the results better. Some even use more than one blow dryer to speed up the whole process.

Any problem affecting your pet's skin and/or hair coat should require a visit to your local pet hospital Washington DC.
